Just as Elijah had his moment destroying the Prophets of Baal (I Kings Ch. 18), so do we. When we seem to be up on the mountain and nothing can stop us. We have faith and all is going well. We dare to believe. We are willing to step out into new things. Saying, “God here am I send me” (Isa. 6:8). Doing the impossible and seeing God’s hand move. We are just like Elijah.
Then, just when we think we have it all under control, satan shows up. Even knowing God is working for us, right then we begin to doubt. The devil uses something or someone to put fear in us. Just when we were in our glory and looking good. Maybe that’s it? God keeps us humble. If He lets us go too long on the mountain, we have no need for Him or help from Him. All is ok.
We tend to run from trouble like Elijah. We run and hide and want to die. We get all pitiful. We feel like we are all alone and God has left us to die. When He plainly told us, He will never leave nor forsake us. (Heb. 13:5) Even as He came to Elijah and said I got 7000 that ain't bowed the knee. (I Kings 19:18)
So, never give up! God’s always got a plan. And God’s always got someone that can handle the battle. Question is. Is it you, or does He need an Elisha to take over? As for me and my house, we shall serve the Lord. (Joshua 24:15)
God is good all the time, and all the time God is good. So, pray on and stand. If God be for you, then who can be against you? (Romans 8:31) To God be the glory!
